1. What are cookies?
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store, so it can recognise your device on the next page or visit. “Local storage” (localStorage) is a related technology that keeps small pieces of information in your browser only. Both let a site remember simple things — like the language you chose — without asking again.
2. Why we use them
We use cookies and storage only to make the site work and remember your choices: to keep you signed in if you have an account, to open the site in your language, and to hold the items in your gift bag and wishlist as you move between pages. We do not use them to advertise to you, to measure your behaviour, or to follow you to other websites.

We use no Preference, Statistics, or Marketing cookies — the categories a shopping site would normally add. Because every item above is strictly necessary, there is nothing optional to switch off; turning them off would stop the site working.
4. Managing your preferences
You are in control of cookies through your browser: you can view, delete, or block them in your browser settings, and clearing your browsing data removes every item above (you would simply sign in and choose your language again). Because we set only strictly necessary items, our cookie notice records that you have seen it rather than asking you to opt in to tracking. You can reopen it from the “Cookie settings” link in the footer.
5. Third-party plugins
This site loads its fonts, scripts, and maps from our own servers, not from third-party networks, so third parties do not set cookies through us. We embed no advertising pixels, social “like” buttons, or analytics tags. If we ever add an embedded service (for example a map or a video), we will describe it here first.
6. Other websites we link to
Where we link out — for example to an official government notice or a map — those sites set their own cookies under their own policies, which we do not control. Please read their notices when you follow such a link.
7. Your rights
Because we store so little, and nothing for tracking, there is nothing to opt out of here. Your rights over the account information behind the sign-in cookie — to access, correct, delete, or export it — are set out in our Privacy Policy, including the sections written for the EEA/UK, China, and the United States.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy if the site changes; the current version always lives on this page with its date and version number. If we ever introduce a non-essential cookie, we will ask for your consent before setting it.
